When I say high school journalism class to you, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind?
Fun, that room, room 444, I always think of just laughter, teamwork, and everyone having a lot of fun.

Describe the best journalism trip you ever took in high school.
The best trip I ever took was to Nashville my junior year. we stayed at Gaylord Opryland, it was insane. The place was huge and it was Christmastime so it had a bunch of decoration. My friends and I would just spend time getting lost…and it was my first time to Nashville which was really cool.

Tell me about a friend you made in journalism that you might not have made otherwise and how do you still keep in touch?
Simone Giovanetti, a co-editor-in-chief with me. We are at college together and we see each other a lot and have become really close. I would have met them, but we wouldn’t have been put in the position to spend a lot of time together.

Describe something you learned in journalism class that you still use in your life, regardless of whether or not you’re a journalist.
I learned a lot of self responsibility, because if I’m ever late on a story, it’s usually my fault. So I learned a lot of self responsibility and accountability.

Why would you recommend that a student take journalism in high school?
Because it really helps you feel like a bigger part of your school. you know what’s going on and you feel like a bigger part of your community.

Tell me about the time you interviewed the guy from American Idol.
I was told about a guy from stanton who had been on American Idol. We thought it was really cool. His name was Colton, and we talked on the phone and we got to go down there with him. We had coffee. Randy Jackson had given him a piece of gum.

Tell me about the time you interviewed the Governor.
I was really really really nervous cause it was for the DNR, and you couldn’t dictate when he would call you back. He called during school. I was in Penton’s room when he called so that made it easier. You can interview anyone you want, you just have to be persistant.

Tell me about the hardest story you have had to write.
The hardest story was on bus transportion. There were a lot of people to interview, and a lot of different view points. I wanted to give eveyone fair and even treatment.

Tell me about the school paper you are on now.
I got hired for the CT, Commonwealth Term. I subscribed articles to it last year and they were published. This year a guy called me this summer and asked if i wanted to work there. I was really excited and its been fun. I do about two articles a week, It has continued to be a struggle. I was always scrambling. Its really stressful, but its fun.

The hardest interview you’ve had to do?
The hardest interview went with the bus transportation story. There were so many people to interview and a lot of different opinions.
