Jack Powers is a junior and is joining the staff this year as a Website Editor. Outside of school, he enjoys hanging out with friends and going to sporting events. He is involved in Model United Nations as a captain, Debate as the Congressional Debate Captain, and the Asian Student Association. Some of his hobbies are playing video games, learning languages, and traveling. He hopes to go to a college in DC, and major in International Relations.

Fukumura, an associate professor in the Physics and Astronomy Department at James Madison University spoke to students about black holes and the research he conducts at the university. "I've been interested in astrophysics and black holes in particular because it's not just theory or modeling, it's calculations and things you can actually test," Fukumura said.
