For high school seniors, one of the most exciting aspects of college life is living in a dorm. When making college purchases, most students look at cost and style. But Monica Resendiz, a freshman at Southern Methodist University in Texas, was different. Inspired by the ABC news series Made In America, a college freshman made a goal for herself: outfit her dorm with things made in America.

No wonder she had such a hard time! Browsing online and in stores, I have found that it is actually really hard to find domestically made dorm products. So, here I have compiled a list of dorm room accessories made in the USA.

Why should we care about where our products are made? Because products made in the USA create jobs in the USA. The best way to revive an economy is to create jobs. Yes, some of that is up to the government, but it is also up to the individual citizen. Buying domestically made products supports domestic industry. It is as simple as that.  Plus, the price difference is not bad at all. So you can still save money and help the economy!
