The HHS boys varsity basketball team took to the court last night to face Wilson Memorial High School for the second time this year. The varsity team had started the season 0-3 until last night, when they escaped a fourth loss with a buzzer-beater, scored by senior Andrew Zingg, to win the game 41-39. The first time HHS played Wilson they suffered a hard fought loss 43-49.

Starting senior Jalen Williams, a shooting guard, scored nine points throughout the game. Williams was very excited for the first win of the season for the team.

“The win definitely made me feel better about our season,” Williams said.

In the fourth quarter with the score tied, the team looked to Zingg to hit the shot.  Zingg came through for the team, hitting an off balance last second shot from the right corner to win the game.

“It was so hyped after the game in the locker room because of our win,” Williams said.

The varsity team will be looking for a second win tonight at their game vs. Eastern Mennonite High School. The game will tip off at 7:30 pm, but the real challenge for the team this week will be their home game vs. Spotswood on Thursday at 6:00 pm.
