The HHS girls volleyball team gets ready for their upcoming game in practice.

The HHS girls volleyball team had a successful home game against Eastern Mennonite high school on Monday, the night of September 16. The streaks won for the second time against the EMHS Flames. A change in the team’s front row positioning was said to be one of the winning factors of the streaks.

“We brought our left hitter, Kendyl Brooks, to play middle hitter instead, and our senior setter, Skyler Johnson, to left hitter. Our new setter is Ananda McAfee. That change in positions was something we did last night and that’s what probably helped us,” freshman libero Athena Benton said.

Our lady streaks took home the win in three sets, winning the first set 25-18, the second set 25-16, and the last set 25-23.

“We almost didn’t win the last game though because we got a little too excited and weren’t really as focused on the game as we should’ve been. But we still got it,” sophomore hitter, Brooks said. “I think we played well and we are continuing to improve individually and as a team.”

The team has another game against the Spotswood Blazers on Thursday, September 19th. Come out to support our team and watch them hopefully bring home another win!
