Garbers Church Road new traffic pattern

The HHS daily announcements have provided new information regarding the traffic pattern change on Garbers Church Road, the road which holds the high school. New green lines have been added to make it easier for drivers to see the bike line at the merge section. The announcements report the following:

“The recent changes on Garbers Church Road included adding a bike lane treatment – green bike lanes. Green pavement within a bicycle lane increases the visibility of the bicycle lane and can help identify areas where vehicles cross the bike lane. On Garbers Church Road, the area where the lanes are to cross the bike lane is indicated by dashed green pavement markings.”

Harrisonburg city provided more information on the benefits of this road change here.
