Wrestling match recap against Wilson Memorial

The final score for Thursday’s wrestling match against Wilson Memorial ended in a 42-22 loss. Coach Billy Bower thinks that they could have done better.

“Honestly, last match was a little disappointing, I feel like we could have won a couple that we lost,” Bower said.

One of the factors that Bower thinks limited the team’s performance was their lack of players. The team was only able to play eight of a total 14 wrestlers on the roster.

However, Bower also believes that the team could also do better by improving on certain skill areas that he feels were lacking.

“I feel like everyone is not doing very well from top to bottom. I think everyone’s pretty comfortable when they’re standing up, but top-bottom I feel like we need to get a bit more comfortable. I feel like we’re not getting our pinning combinations in correctly, so we need to work on that,” Bower said.

The next wrestling match is Jan. 6 at Northern High School.
