The Boys Varsity basketball team took the court looking to open with a good first win over an in district foe Robert E. Lee Fighting Leemen. The Leemen started the game fast, strong, and looked like they’d roll with an easy win.

After the first quarter the Streaks were down 17-4, the Streaks needed a comeback in the second to set up a possible chance for a good second half. The Streaks offense stepped up in the second quarter and outscored the Leemen 26 to 24. The first half was complete and the Streaks had to keep their heads high because there were 16 minutes of play left and down only by 11.

The quarter was another impressive quarter by the offense led by Malachi Simmons, Danny Dombrowski, and Matt Meiser. The Streaks started off the fourth quarter down by only nine which gave the Streaks belief that a comeback could happen. However, too many foul calls which some were controversial allowed the Leemen to pull away with a 14 point victory.
