One Direction makes Burden proud with “FOUR”

One Direction’s new album, “FOUR” has just recently come out on Nov. 17, 2014. The band’s fourth album was produced by SYCO/Columbia Records and quickly topped the iTunes charts, coming in at number 1, surpassing Taylor Swift’s heavily talked about album, “1989”.

Upon listening to the album, I was overwhelmed with a new, rocky sound by the boys. One of their songs, “Act My Age”, almost reminds me of The Black Keys in it’s musical style. “Steal My Girl”, which was released as a single in tandem with “Fireproof”, quickly became a hit for the band.

I love both of these songs, though “Steal My Girl” has a catchier tune, reflected by the warmer welcome into the radio playing lists.  Liam, Louis, Niall, Harry and Zayn worked hard to produce this album in merely a year, releasing it nearly exactly a year from their last album’s release. I was very impressed by their ability to write even more than on prior albums. You can hear their own personal styles on each song.

They will perform their new setlist for the upcoming On The Road Again Tour, which will kick-off on Feb. 7, 2015 in Sydney, Australia.

I will be in attendance for their Baltimore, Maryland show on Aug. 8, 2015. I’m really excited to see them rock out a bit more with these new songs. I’m sure, by the time the concert rolls around, these songs will be engrained in my mind as to welcome many sing-along sessions with my fellow concert-goer, staff member Victoria Giron.

I’m personally so proud of One Direction for beating the odds as a boy band and releasing their fourth album in just four years.
