Pilates is a derivative of yoga, but incorporates harder exercises along with stretches. Basically it is pain that arrives right at that first crunch and leaves your abs, thighs and butt are left sore and aching two to three days later. Past the pain there is a sense of accomplishment that you actually did something, and that’s why I love it!
Cassey Ho posts pilates videos for “LivestrongWomen” and for “Blogilates”. Ho also posts tips, meal plans, exercise plans and miscellaneous things (like Target’s terrible photoshoppers). Ho’s newest video, “5 Best Exercises to Flatten your Lower Belly”, was posted on Mar. 10. Ho shows the five best ways to really get rid that pouch while toning the muscle.
My lower abdominals constantly burned throughout this video. The moves were fairly easy, but it was just a struggle to continue to do them.
Out of all of Ho’s pilates videos I really enjoy doing the Total Body Toning for Beginners | Pilates Boot Camp with Cassey Ho and Super Shaper Pilates Workout | Pilates Boot Camp with Cassey Ho which are both under the LivestrongWomen channel on Youtube. I really enjoy doing these videos the most because they target the whole body instead of doing three different videos one for the butt, thighs, and abs.
Not to be one of those girls that is constantly trying to change things about her body, I just want to perfect the parts I am not too fond of at the moment. Pilates helps slim/tone the muscles while you are burning fat. Rather than most exercises when you are building muscle while burning fat and you end up looking bulkier, which is the complete opposite of what I’m trying to do. It helps me, and others participating, to get that sleek figure so I can look better in that bathing suit I’m excited to wear this summer.
I’m slimming down that pouch, trying to get a better “thigh gap”, and making my huge butt a nice buxom butt. And I’m doing it for only 15 min. during the weekdays for free! I’m sitting in front of my computer and doing these workouts. Yes, it hurts like a mother trucker but when I’m holding that plank and doing those “Cheerleader Ls” there are two things going on in my head. The first is that I am getting so much closer to that really cute one piece I saw in that Bra Smith magazine. The second thing is that the next time I go shopping my insecurities won’t be relevant when I look in that dressing room mirror. Like they say, beauty is pain.
