“Breaking Beautiful” is among a group of titles that involve suspense and romance, if you’d like to keep your trend going.

Imagine this: You are a girl who got in a car accident with your boyfriend. Only you made it and he didn’t. Here’s the catch, you don’t remember what happened and all you have are little pieces of memories. Even if you could remember it, would you want to?

Breaking Beautiful is about this girl named Allie and her struggles with coming to terms with her boyfriend being dead and her trying to remember what happened in the accident. As much as she loved him she can’t forget what he did to her and she has the scars to prove it. He abused her, but why didn’t she tell anyone? There’s people who are on her side, for example, her twin brother Andrew who was born a few minutes after her and has cerebral palsy. She can’t help but feel guilty about him, and tells herself that she should’ve been the one that who had cerebral palsy. Also, there’s her best friend Blake whom she couldn’t talk to for two years because Trip wouldn’t let her. He doesn’t care what anybody thinks, and even though Allie stopped talking to him, it doesn’t mean he stopped looking after her. Murder. That’s what everyone seems to believe right after the police reopen the investigation for Trip’s death.  Police suspect that someone cut his brake line the day of the accident. Who was it? Everyone wants to know who. Who would kill precious Trip, the “golden boy” of their town? Was it really just an accident or was there more to it?

Breaking Beautiful is the MOST intense story I have ever read. Even if you think somethings going to happen BAM it takes an unexpected direction. The way that Jennifer Shaw Wolf described everything made it feel like I was right there reliving it with Allie. It was just simply amazing. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves suspense, but also a little bit of romance. Breaking Beautiful is so breathtaking it deserves a 5 out of 5 stars.
