I will start off by saying, I’m a big baseball fan. I grew up in a household where you participated in a baseball related activity at least twice a week, whether it be watching the game on TV, playing in my own Little League game, watching my brother play, or when I was young, watching my dad play. With this in mind, I was skeptical of the movie Moneyball. I wanted it to do the baseball history justice, especially since it was based on a true story.
After seeing this movie, though, I can say that Moneyball outdid my expectations by a great margin. I did have them low to begin with, but I was very impressed by this technically correct and engaging baseball vision.
The story follows Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) and Peter Brand (Jonah Hill) as they work to improve the way players are drafted to the Oakland A’s. Their techniques are different from any others used in that day and age, and they are met with much opposition and skepticism. Although their strategies are a far cry from what was accepted, and perhaps a bit unorthodox, they work. The story ends realistically, and satisfies the watcher. I recommend Moneyball to any avid baseball fan who is sure to appreciate the plot line and conflict along the way.

Agreed. It’s hard for me to take Jonah Hill even the slightest bit seriously though. Good Article.
