Oh, yeah! Rivalry week is just around the corner and this year will be one of the biggest in recent history.

Not only is this the week were bitter rivals face off, this week will also decide what the BCS standings will look like going into the conference championship games.

The BCS standings have gone all over the place except for the number 1 spot, which has been occupied by LSU. This weekend, (1)LSU will face against (3)Arkansas, who have been fighting for the Golden Boot since 1996.

Another big rivalry is game is, of course, Michigan-Ohio State. This has been considered one of the biggest rivalries in all of sports. Michigan hasn’t beaten Ohio State since 2003, but Michigan fans everywhere have hope that Michigan will come out on top. Michigan has had a huge advantage this year at home. At Michigan Stadium, they’re undefeated and have outscored their opponents 267-82. As for Ohio State, the season hasn’t looked so great. However, Ohio State fans haven’t lost hope.

Virginia-Virginia Tech is another big rivalry that fans on both sides are really excited for. The winner of this game wins the ACC Coastal Division. Virgina, like Michigan, hasn’t beat their rival since 2003. Virginia fans are also hopeful that they will finally beat Tech after Virginia’s amazing win at Florida State, that kept them in the division race. For VTech, they’re undefeated on the road. Tech’s head coach, Frank Beamer, has won 17 out of his 25 games against the Cavaliers. So, Tech still has a big advantage. Tech has dominated UVa since 2003 and Tech fans would like to keep it that way. This will be one huge game that could turn everything in the ACC around. Tech

One last big rivalry is Auburn-Alabama. If you’ve ever seen the ESPN documentary Roll Tide/War Eagle then you know how big this rivalry in the state of Alabama. Alabama reclaimed their number 2 spot in the BCS standings after their big 9-6 overtime loss to LSU. A big win for the Crimson Tide will secure that. On the flip side, if Auburn wins, then it will create a huge change in the BCS standings. After Cam Newton left, Auburn hasn’t been the same. They’re 4-3 in the SEC and 7-4 overall. Alabama definitely has a lot to show and they will most likely come out on top.

There are many big games that are happening this Saturday. Not just rivalries, but games that could possibly decide this year’s BCS National Championship game. This will be one of the biggest weeks this season.
