It is senior year for most of the Glee club and over the summer there were some big changes. Quinn Fabray (Dianna Agron) decided that now was the time to dye her hair pink and join the Skanks-a group of delinquent girls that hang out underneath the bleachers. Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) have their dreams set for Julliard but after learning that it didn’t have a musical theater program they set their sights on the New York Academy of Dramatic Arts. The academy has a monthly mixer, and Rachel and Kurt plan to wow the competition with “Ding-Dong!The Witch is Dead,” from the Wizard of Oz. However the competition, including Lindsey Pearce, one of the winners from the Glee Project, puts on a flawless mash-up of “Anything Goes” and “Anything You Can Do” left them completely defeated. Speaking of Kurt, he begs Blaine (Darren Criss) to transfer to McKinley and join the New Directions, which he does. Since Sam (Chord Overstreet) has left the show, this episode’s concept is to recruit new members using purple pianos.
Freshman Chloe Richard agreed with me that this was an immensely stupid concept since I thought we had established that singing around your peers was a bad idea. Do I need to remind you in the Christmas episode when the Glee Club went caroling around the school they had a shoe thrown at them? Sue (Jane Lynch) is back to her old self, by running for Congress and promoting an anti-arts platform. Is her life’s goal to make Will’s (Matthew Morrison) life a living hell? Because that is getting so old! Hopefully the writers of Glee get back to writing real episodes. I also can’t wait to see the winners of the Glee Project in the next few episodes!
