This summer, gleeks all over the nation flocked to their televisions to watch a new show, The Glee Project. Twelve hopeful contestants were picked after a through nationwide search of millions of competitors. The lucky twelve had to compete in various challenges to prove themselves worthy of winning a guest staring role on the hit television show Glee. (Aired Tuesday September 20th) Like any reality T.V. show there was unnecessary drama among cast members, but overall the program was quite refreshing and the finale was a good one. Each episode consisted of learning and practicing vocals, as well as dance moves to accompany a song sung by the contenders in a music video. The cast members were only featured in the video for a few seconds but to pass through until the next round, you had to have stood out. Along with the music video, the show had a group challenge that was judged by a actual cast member from Glee including Darren Criss, Harry Shum Jr. and Max Adler. All contenders would sing the same popular song, while trying to impress the guest judge. After the judge had chosen his or her favorite in the group number, they offered them one on one time to learn the ins and outs of being on Glee. The bottom three contenders that did the worst had to sing a last chance performance for Ryan Murphy, one of the main writers and creators of Glee. He along with two others would decide the person who would be sent home. On the Glee premiere, one of the four winners of the Glee Project was featured, and the other three are to be featured later in the season.
