Cake, the band, was formed in 1991 by John McCrea, the singer, Greg Brown, the guitarist, Vince DiFiore, the trumpeter, Shon Meckfessel, the bassist, and Frank French, the drummer. Cake is an alternative rock band and currently has 7 albums out.

The most recent album, Showroom of Compassion, was released on January 11, 2011. Cake has undergone many changes, and of the original five members, only John McCrea and Vince DiFiore remain. Cake has had many big impressions on alternative rock radio, such as, “Rock ‘n’ Roll Lifestyle” “The Distance” “I Will Survive” “Short Skirt/Long Jacket” and many others. Cake is currently on their way to Europe to play three shows, one in England, one in France, and one in the Netherlands.

Cake is one of the greatest alternative rock bands of all time. They successfully combine the trumpet with traditional rock instruments. their music is easily danced to, and has catchy, child friendly lyrics.
