This month, we have been celebrating Hispanic Heritage month by making several themes for this spirit week. Thursday Sep. 18, the theme was to dress in the apparel that represented your heritage or your culture. Maria Carrera, a Spanish 2 teacher, shared her favorite part about this week and her favorite outfits.
“I really enjoy seeing from this week our Quincieñeras, that’s amazing how they can just like, walk, and sit, and everything with that big dress,” Carrera said.
Carrera thinks spirit week is a very fun and engaging way to keep the school’s spirit alive and this event is very fun to participate in.
“It’s really good [the spirit week with different themes], it’s always our way to connect with students…so it’s really nice,” Carrera said.
On Thursday, Carrera was dressed in a typical skirt from Colombia called “falda de pueblerina” and a sombrero volteado.
