Boys basketball loses first game 43-49

The boys varsity basketball team competed in their first opening game of the season on Wednesday Dec 4th against the boys of Wilson Memorial High School. They unfortunately came out with a loss against the team of Wilson after a long fought game.

The first quarter ended close with a score of 11 for HHS and 13 for Wilson. HHS came back during the second quarter, ending it with a score of 21-15. They maintained their lead throughout the third quarter, finishing with a score of 32-31 for HHS. Unfortunately, the boys of Wilson came back during the fourth quarter, scoring a total of 18 points and finished the game winning 49-43.

Senior Jalen Williams and Andrew Zingg scored 15 and 13 points respectively. Senior Ryan Phillips also earned eight points for the team.

“We were pretty disappointed in the end, but we played a good game and we’re hoping to get better throughout the season. That was only the first game,” Zingg said.

The boys take on Wilson Memorial once again on Monday Dec. 9th at home. Come out to watch the boys at 7:30 p.m. at HHS!
