Auditions have happened, directors have chosen and callbacks have been posted. The competition for the leading roles has increased now that select students have been requested for callbacks. The three days of callbacks will include both a movement group and a movement/singing/reading group were potential cast members will be reviewed.

Freshman Eleanor Alger received a callback for movement and is very excited for the upcoming event. She has been involved in of theater for five years now and has come to love the stage. As this is her first year trying out, she isn’t hoping for any specific role.

“I just want to get in. Wherever Swartz decides to place me is fine,” Alger said.

Alger loves the whole idea of theater and what it has to offer. She enjoys the hard work that goes into putting on a great performance.

“I love how you can prepare for months and then for just two hours you can take the audience away [on a story],” Alger said.

Junior Evan Dotas is also looking forward to the musical. After also receiving a movement callback, he is a little nervous at what the next audition will hold.

“There are a lot of really talented guy singers and it is my first time doing it,” Dotas said.

Dotas has never been involved in a play or musical before so this is a completely new experience for him. He has been a part of pit, but he is looking forward to what the stage has to offer.

“I think it is really cool to put something [a show] together, like in the marching band, when the show comes together in the end,” Dotas said.

Callbacks will take place Monday Nov. 18 and Tuesday Nov. 19. Rehearsal will start soon after the cast list is posted.
