Spirit week: the set of days leading up to homecoming that needs no introduction, but still deserves one. In this week, HHS students are expected to raise school spirit and dress up, following the theme of each respective day. This year, spirit week will take place from Sept. 23 to 27.

For those eager to know the themes, good news! The days have been finalized – here’s what to expect:

Monday – Crazy hat day. Starting the week off simple, try not to leave your 6 foot clown wig at home. If it fits on your head, the general idea is that you should wear it. This is a rare break in the dress code, so cherish these 7 hours where hats are allowed at school.

Tuesday – Decades day. Pick your favorite 10 years of history and get dressed up. Technically you can dress as yourself from 2013, but creativity is heavily encouraged.

Wednesday – Celebrity day. Be someone you’re not! Dress up as your favorite role model (maybe) and get ready for homecoming’s red carpet theme.

Thursday – Favorite character day. Pick a character, any character. Whether it’s from a book, movie or TV show, feel free to dress as them. Ideally we won’t have 15 Harry Potters establishing a tyranny over the school.

Friday – Blue, White and Red Sea. You know the drill. It’s the day of the homecoming game, and this is where school spirit reaches it’s peak. Go streaks!
