Opinion: Louisville wins intense championship game

Louisville wins the March Madness championship game.
The March Madness game between Louisville and Michigan had to be one of the best champion games in history. The game was constantly back and forth. As one team pulled away the other team would make a comeback. Nobody expected either team to make it to the championship, which made it that much more engaging. The final score alone, 82-76, demonstrates the intensity and competitiveness of this year’s final March Madness game. Michigan had something to prove as of result of their last championship game win being in 1989. However, Louisville was not only playing to win the championship, but to win it for Kevin Ware who had broken his leg in the Final Four.

Both teams put forth their best effort. I can see Michigan coming back to the championship next year because they are a very young team, with three very talented freshman: Trey Burke, Spike Albrecht and Mitch McGary. Surprisingly, they were players in the championship game that you didn’t think would do as well as they ending up doing. There were players such as Michigan’s Spike Albrecht and Louisville’s Luke Hancock who couldn’t miss, scoring seventeen and sixteen points in the first half alone, respectively. These two teams both played like winners, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see these two teams return to the championship in the coming years.

Trey Burke is a sophomore according to ESPN. I’m happy that both teams were able to score more than 60 points and have a very competitive and close game.
