Athletes across The Valley should be shouting with delight. Over the weekend, Dick’s Sporting Goods had finally made its way to Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Sophomore, Laurie Serrell, was surprised at the size of the store.

“It’s really big,” Serrell said.

The wide variety of brands at Dick’s gives everyone a choice of their favorite. Every brand is separated so customers have an easier time trying to find what they want. Different sports also have different sections, making it easier to find your equipment. For instance, there’s a basketball section, a golf section, a swimming section, etc.

Whether you’re a hunter, golfer, runner, or soccer player, Dick’s has the apparel and equipment for you. Serrell runs cross-country, and was happy with the selection of apparel Dick’s had to offer.

“It’s an all around sports store. Any kind of athletic stuff, [Dick’s] has it,” Serrell said.

Although it’s new to the valley, many students have already been to Dick’s, and so far, they love it.

Freshman, Alexis Eberly, is a member of the cross country team, and now calls Dick’s her favorite sports apparel store.

“[Dick’s] has a lot of better clothing for running. I used to go to Shenk and Tittle. I’m pretty sure Dick’s will put them out of business,” freshman Alexis Eberly said.
