Many people like to pair their cup of coffee with a sweet treat.

Some people may think that this sounds crazy but I started drinking coffee when I was around six or seven years old. That’s definitely not good but here I am, still doing great. Coffee is an acquired taste for most people, for others, liking it comes naturally. I personally don’t drink coffee for the caffeine aspect (sometimes I do), I really drink it for the flavor. Somehow coffee doesn’t affect me at all so it’s kind of pointless, but at the same time, it feels right to drink it. Not to sound like an old person, but coffee is how I like to start my days.

Many people don’t start drinking coffee until they start high school or when they need that pick-me-up when cramming in last-minute school work in the middle of the night. I’m guilty of drinking coffee late at night if I need to stay up, but it’s not a regular thing for me.

Many people like creamer with a drop of coffee and a cup of sugar. I like the opposite. Coffee with a drop of creamer and no sugar. I know, crazy, no sugar but coffee doesn’t taste good with sugar to me. It adds a flavor that can’t be described. It’s not good, but it’s not so bad to the point where it needs to be thrown away.

Coffee can come in any form. Whether that be hot coffee, iced coffee, ice cream, lattes, cappuccinos; the types of coffees one can have are endless and that’s something that I like about it. Many people tend to only like hot coffee, whereas others only like cold coffee. I like hot coffee when it’s cold and iced coffee when it’s hot. I may also be that person who drinks iced coffee when it’s below freezing outside. Some coffee shops sell different types of coffee depending on the time of year. Regardless of the time of year, worldwide coffee chain, Starbucks, has sales that are 74% cold drinks in a year according to Insider. This proves that the majority of people prefer iced coffees over hot coffees, even if it’s freezing cold outside.

Some may say that coffee isn’t good for you. Some say it will stunt your growth. Those are two statements that I don’t necessarily agree with. Coffee may not be good for you depending on your health conditions. It may not be good for you in general, but that doesn’t stop millions of coffee drinkers in the world from enjoying a cup of coffee. I’ve been drinking coffee since a young age, you would wonder why I’m not four foot something. That’s because coffee can’t always change how much someone grows. Some may say it’s a myth, some may say it’s a fact. It’s been proven that coffee can’t stunt your growth and that height is related to genes, not drinks you consume. According to Harvard Health Publishing, it’s been scientifically proven that coffee cannot stunt your growth. The writers at Harvard say that the idea that coffee stunts your growth comes from the misconception that coffee causes osteoporosis, which is a disease that is associated with height loss. Regardless, coffee can’t do anything but provide someone with a great source of energy and a great drink to have during any time of the year.
