Wednesday, June 17, 2020, HHS announced in a press release that Josh Carico will be the new head coach for the varsity football team and football program at HHS. Carico was approved by the HCPS School Board on Tuesday, June 16, 2020.

Carico graduated HHS in 2001, where he played football under Coach Tim Sarver. Afterwards, Carico continued playing football at Bridgewater College. During this time, Carico was a member in the 2001 Stagg Bowl National Championship runner-up team. This team was recently inducted in the Hall of Fame. Carico graduated from Bridgewater College in 2005 with a degree in Information Systems Management and a minor in Business. In 2012, Carico returned to HHS and has worked as an assistant coach ever since.

“HHS is pleased to have Josh Carico continue the building process of the football program, and having him be a mentor and role model on and off the field at HHS is an exciting opportunity. Carico is a true Blue Streak and his leadership will be a valuable addition to the Athletic Department,” HHS Director of Student Activities Brandon Burley said in the press release.
