Immediately following third lunch on Tuesday, November 22, students will be able to go to the auditorium for a special pre-holiday screening of the movie Marley and Me. The movie will be shown during fourth block and will cost $3 per ticket. Tickets are currently being sold, and can be purchased in room 454.
The movie screening was organized by the Key Club, in anticipation for the long weekend of Thanksgiving break. .
“You can get together with your friends and start enjoying the long weekend a little early.” Key Club sponsor Maurizio Antonnicola said.
The proceeds from the ticket sales will go toward the current Key Club fundraiser, Koins for K-9, which is raising money for a new member for the K9 unit of the police force. The fundraiser has had better luck at the middle schools than at HHS, and Antonnicola hopes the movie will help the high school raise more money.
Antonnicola hopes students will buy their ticket and enjoy the movie, and relax a little the day before Thanksgiving break. He wants students to buy their tickets as soon as they can, and spread the word to their friends.
“I want people to buy tickets now, because I don’t want people lined up on the day of [the movie] because then they would miss it.” Antonnicola said.
The movie is about a couple, John and Jenny Grogan (played by Owen Wilson and Jennifer Anniston) who decide to buy a puppy. The movie goes on through their adventures with their new family member, as well as later raising their children.
“It’s a funny movie about a couple who decides to buy a dog and the dog is a real problem,” Antonnicola said. “They learn a lot as a family how to deal with the dog.”
Antonnicola anticipates some students being unable to attend the movie because of teachers who will teach until the last minute.
“That’s good, it’s okay to stay in class,” Antonnicola said. “But if your teacher’s willing and you’re willing, please come to the movie and help support Koins for K9.”

I am a fan of entertainment… and after watching Marley and Me for the second time at this event. My heart was touched, and I was shown how much dogs really play in our lives.
Over all it was a good movie, and I think that I would recommend it to any and everyone who likes to laugh, cry and laugh some more.
