Have you ever fallen for the classic cliche of love at first sight? I have many times over, every single time I watch a romantic comedy. There’s nothing better than seeing the first moment when the two main characters meet, locking eyes and sharing a tangible moment only made for the two of them. Although you have the classics “Valentine’s Day”, “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”, “Love Actually”, “The Notebook”, “10 Things I Hate About You”, “Clueless” and countless others, there is a fairly new romantic comedy made by Netflix that will be considered a classic in years to come.

“To all the Boys I’ve Loved Before” is already immensely popular after only being on Netflix since Aug 17. The chemistry between actors Noah Centineo and Lana Condor makes the love on screen seem as if they are actually dating. The whole story seems written in the stars, yet still realistic. Many romantic comedies are pegged as “unrealistic” or “not true”. Although some of the things in the movie are unrealistic – the fake dating, the love letter writing, and the guys actually liking her back after she gets exposed with her deepest feelings about them are completely unrealistic – the scenes in the school cafeteria and high school are just what some kids might normally experience.

Lana Condor’s performance at the beginning as the romanticised teen who spends all day in her room reading, watching TV or doing homework is something that almost every girl can relate to. Even though she dealt with a huge loss, she is able to have a pretty normal teenage life with the help of her sisters. She overcomes loss and starts doing what she wants to do.

Noah Centineo, although previously unknown to many teenage girls, has now become the viral sensation of “Peter Kavinsky”. Peter Kavinsky has now set the bar for any other guy trying to date a girl in high school. He tries to win over Condor in innocent yet playful ways.

All in all, “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” is an amazing movie and should be watched by everyone who has access to the internet.
