Unless you don’t affiliate with the internet and have no understanding of anything pop culture, you probably already know that on November 11, 2014 Kim Kardashian “broke the internet”. We have since healed from the fracture that Kardashian inflicted on our world wide web, but we have not healed without unnecessary comments. Apart from the comments of Kardashian’s photo that read “QUEEN” or “SLAY”, there were a myriad of comments that were basically trollop shaming Kim for being nude on camera.

I personally believe that a naked body is not something to be ashamed of and it really doesn’t matter who exposes theirs. All biological males and females have the same stuff, so it’s not like we should be shocked when we do see a naked body. I understand we censor them, to shield the children from overly sexualized images, but I don’t understand why when a woman exposes her body she is called a floozy.

If Kim Kardashian wants to pose naked a year after having a kid then kudos to her. She shouldn’t be judged because she is doing no harm. It’s not like Paper Magazine is going to be on display at the cash register at Walmart where a kid can see it.

The real issue here with people shaming Kim Kardashian is the fact that she is a woman and women are unfairly held to a different standard than men. If Nick Jonas publicizes pictures of him grabbing his crotch nearly naked, there is no problem, but as soon as there is a scantily clad female the world goes insane.

Most of the trollop shaming that I’ve seen have been done by women. Women can be catty and judgemental, but I’d like to see a world where we can congratulate each other on looking great. Let’s build each other up, not down.
