Mariel Joven

Mariel Joven, Yearbook Editor in Chief

Mariel Joven is a senior at Harrisonburg High School and an editor in chief of the 2021 yearbook. This is her fourth year being an editor for the yearbook staff. Her favorite part of journalism is the design aspect and the connections she makes with her school community. Besides journalism, she is also takes part in many of the fine arts events at HHS, including musical and one act. Outside of school, her hobbies include hiking, eating out with friends and collecting records. During quarantine she has attempted to learn how to play the piano, and ultimately failed. Instead she learned how to bake mediocre pastries and other recipes. In the near future, she’d like to have a career that involves and improves the environment. While in college, her plan is to study and live abroad, most likely in a city setting.
