Review: Benny’s brings big pizza to the ‘Burg

A single slice can go a long way at Benny’s.

Sorry Bella Luna, you are in for some major competition. Benny’s is now in the ‘Burg.

I had never heard of Benny’s until the restaurant came to Harrisonburg, and it’s a good thing I did. Located in downtown, it is in front of the Urban Exchange apartment building and very close to Strite’s Donuts– not that I think you will be eating anything else after Benny’s.

The pizza itself was not only the biggest I had ever seen, but the taste is savory. There was not too much cheese; there was not too much seasoning on the pizza; there was a generous amount of pepperoni, and one slice of their pizza is a monstrous 14 inches– and for only five bucks! Only four if you get cheese. Although they just opened three weeks ago and their menu is not all that big, I expect Benny’s to expand and get even better. No complaints here. I give it a 10/10.
