Unleash your inner rockstar with musiXmatch, this karaoke app takes your already acquired music and matches it with lyrics and removes the vocals creating an instant karaoke machine. This app goes beyond the basic karaoke experience, not only prompting you with the lyrics to your favorite songs, but it also takes a note from the popular Rockband games and shows you a streamlined tuning line so you know if you are singing in tune.

After installing the app it scans your device for music and attempts to match them with lyrics. It will then prompt you with a series of screens where it teaches you how to use the app and then finally ask your to sign in with either Facebook or Google+. The main screen is clean and simple, with four options “My Music”, “MusicID”, “Favorites” and “Store”. The “My Music” option lets you play your music and serves as the main karaoke function, “MusicID” identifies music just by listening to the music you hear, “Favorites” let’s you access your favourite tracks and “Store” lets you buy extra app functions like a cover art fixer or an equalizer and different time allotments without ads and premium support.

The MusicID feature is really useful, not only will it tell you what song is playing, it will also put the lyrics on the screen for you to sing, give you a link to play that song on Youtube and even let you play the song if you already own the song and have it on your device.

This app is perfect if you want to use it to look up lyrics to a song or even jam out by yourself, but with those of you who wish to use this app with friends consider using it on a tablet. The small screen of your cellphone or ipod won’t be big enough for you to use with friends. MusiXmatch also sells an optional $59.95 microphone to use in conjunction with this app,but it isn’t required in order to use the app.
