The HHS volleyball team took on the Turner Ashby Knights on Thursday, Sept. 25, at HHS. The Blue Streaks upset the Knights by a final score of 3-1, with the Blue Streaks improving to an impressive 8-3 on the year. Junior Nora Von Rotz believes that the team is just beginning to tap into its full potential.
“I feel so proud of us. This is the best we’ve played all year, and to play up to their level really shows our potential as a team. We did all the little things right and stayed disciplined, I’m just really proud of [the team],” Von Rotz said.
Despite their 8-3 record, which is good enough for third in the Valley District standings, sophomore Maren Bert emphasizes that there is still work to be done and focus needed to become great.
“I think we’re confident in our abilities, and we know what we are capable of doing, but the losses on [our record] show that there is always room for improvement and we need to keep playing hard,” Bert said.
