The JV volleyball team had a game against Turner Ashby Thursday, Sept. 25. This game was an important one for the team, and they wanted to win since it was a district game that counted. The Blue Streaks fell to the Knights, and lost in two sets. Even though they had a loss, freshman Theola Bixler appreciates the effort her team put in to win.
“Everyone was working hard for each point we scored, and nobody quit until the game was over,” Bixler said.
Even though the Blue Streaks didn’t win their game against Turner Ashby, they pushed hard with their effort.
“Our game against TA could have gone better, but I think the work we put into practice has really started to pay off,” Bixler said.
Through the season, the Streaks have put a lot of effort into their practice.
“Something that went well is our communication. We did really well on calling the ball and helping each other out on difficult passes,” sophomore Mariah Nelson said.
Communication has been an important part of improving their passes to the Streaks.
“There’s been so much visible improvement in our team since the beginning of the season, and we’re getting progressively better after each game,” Bixler said.
The Streaks feel like they have progressed since their first game and are excited to see what happens next.
“I think we played pretty relaxed and nicely in our game,” Illiona Gordon-Curry said.
The Streaks have three games this week and are hoping to showcase the skills they have been working on.
“I really do think my team is improving a lot in each game,” Chloe Walker said.
