HHS one act places second at VHSL regional competition, moving onto states
November 9, 2013
Despite the HHS One Act cast’s consistent success at regionals for the past three years, their placement as runners up was no less of a cause for celebration.
For freshman Harmony Wilson, this is the first time she has been part of the state-qualifying cast
“I’m so excited and happy! I’m eager to go to states!” Wilson said.
The cast competed on Saturday Nov. 9 in the region 4A North Theatre Festival at Woodgrove High School, against seven other schools.
Placing first was Chancellor high school with The Complete World of Sports (abridged), narrowly beating HHS’s Pieces followed in second.
Tyler Edwards is a senior with a few plays-worth of experience, already having an idea of the caliber of state competitions.
“I feel extremely happy. This is the third year in a row HHS is going to states. We have been runner up and states champions and I’m excited to see what happens this year,” Edwards said.
The state competition will take place on Tuesday Dec 3 at Monticello High School in Charlottesville. HHS will be competing against five other schools.
