This past weekend, JROTC cadets gathered at Bretheran Woods for the Special Missions Camp, a three-day event focused on competition and leadership. Cadets worked in squads to complete obstacle courses, land navigation, and leadership challenges, testing their teamwork and skills.
Many cadets had a great time despite the tough competition. Alexander Jimenez shared, “This was one of the best camps yet. I had so much fun with my squad. Although we could’ve done better, I still had a great time.”
Squads showed different leadership styles throughout the camp. Abril Paiz, who helped grade the squads, said, “As I was grading the squads, I really enjoyed seeing all the different types of leadership styles.”
For those who love competition, this camp was perfect. Jonathan Ortega said, “I love these types of JROTC camps because I am a very competitive person and love doing all these activities.”
By the end of the weekend, cadets left with stronger leadership skills, teamwork experience, and great memories. Special Missions Camp was a fun and challenging event that helped shape future leaders.
