STEM Connect is an afterschool club where STEM Students connect with others in the academy. STEM Connect starts with a 15-minute mini-lesson and the rest of the time there students have time to connect with others and work on school projects.
This year Aaron Garcia is new to the STEM Connect community. He is a sophomore and is using STEM Connect to his advantage.
“STEM Connect is kind of a place where people can go and hang out with friends, also get school work done and do activities they provide,” Garcia said.
The mini-lesson usually includes a challenge or activity that expands the understanding of STEM in topics that aren’t usually explained in class.
“Yesterday, we saw how long you can make a paper chain and how long we can make a stretch out of like one paper,” Garcia said.
After the Mini lesson has finished students have time to study and hang out with their friends. All students at HHS have this opportunity and many students are taking advantage.
