Apple released a new update to their mobile operating system called iOS7 on Wednesday at 1 p.m.. Students at HHS waited patiently for the arrival of the exciting new update. Once iOS7 was released, the school’s server shut down, as many students attempted to go online to get the update.
iOS7 was well worth the wait, it makes users feel as though they have a new phone. The entire design is entirely different with new colorful apps that adopt a more modern feel.

“I like it. I think it has a great new look that is easy to access and it’s simple,” said senior Lillian Poirot.

The new control center feature makes it so users can access key features quickly. For people who use Twitter and tweet a lot, there is no more “tap to tweet” option which is a bit disappointing. Apple also added iTunes radio, which chooses radio stations for you based on the music you listen to. The camera was updated and adds new features and filters to add to your picture. Every feature has changed in some way, so you have to relearn how to use your own phone, but to many excited students it’s worth it.

The student reaction to iOS7 has been overwhelmingly positive, but there have been some minor complaints.

“I love it! I love the new features, but I’m not too keen on the other stuff. The color scheme is a little too bubbly and I’m not sure if that’s what Apple is about,” said junior Graham Rebhun.
