This season, the horror story that is the New York Jets has caught the eyes of football fans around the world as they rapidly decline throughout the season. After their embarrassing loss to the Tennessee Titans, the Jets have been taking massive heat for being eliminated in the playoffs.
We’ll start off to say that Rex Ryan’s management of his team has been a huge disappointment when it came to decision making. In the beginning of the season, Rex Ryan and the Jets management decided they were going to pursue former Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow. Why was this a mistake? Bringing in Tim Tebow created more drama and stress with their main quarterback Mark Sanchez. In the viewpoint of the fan, if Sanchez ever did badly in a lot of games, we would assume Rex Ryan would make the call to put Tim Tebow in. Loss by loss, Rex had to make a decision to put Sanchez or Tebow in. Every time, he sided with the main quarterback Sanchez.
The point of this little rant is that if Rex never pursued Tim Tebow, then all this media on the Jets wouldn’t happen. Sanchez wouldn’t get as much heat as he would have and the Jets wouldn’t have been under the big spotlight. Sanchez fell under the pressure and Rex didn’t take any action during the season.
With all media’s spotlights pointed on the Jets, they have to settle with change. Everyone is expecting some. The acquisition of Tim Tebow was a huge mistake that could have been called a mile away. The Jets wanted more attention and now they have the attention, but now their season closes without anything positive to say.
