Despite the mediocre opponent Minnesota is playing, this presents a pretty good matchup. The story of this game is how the Vikings will do against the tough Tampa Bay Bucs.
The Vikings are coming into this game with a 5-2 record and is just trailing behind the Chicago Bears in their division. Nobody expected the outstanding start from the Vikings but Tampa Bay has a lot to prove as they face a home Minnesota team.
The Vikings defense has helped win their games throughout the season but Tampa Bay’s rushing defense has shut down the rushing game of their opponents. Adrian Peterson and the Viking offensive line will have wear down the Tampa Defense and execute the play action game. You can’t say much for the Tampa Bay pass defense as they are last in the league, giving up the most yards. But Vikings QB Christian Ponder hasn’t impressed anyone yet with his sub-par passing game. This is the chance for the young quarterback to put up big numbers and help his team win.
If Adrian Peterson can get the game off and let Christian Ponder get some big passing plays, there is no way Tampa Bay can stop a one-two punch.
