Geography teacher Jere Borg gives a treat to a giraffe. This is a Kenyan tradition Borg had the chance to take part in on her Cultural Ambassadors trip with JMU in July 2006. “In Kenya, they call this ‘kissing the giraffe.’ You hold a peanut in your mouth and the giraffe swipes your mouth with its 18 inch long, black tongue. It feels like getting a kiss from a grizzly old man,” Borg said.
