Green participates in the arts as extracurriculars
Involved in multiple extracurriculars like musical, color guard and dance, junior Javion Green describes himself as funny, outgoing, crazy and kind. Green believes his personality traits are a result of the many people he’s around on a day-to-day basis.
“I feel my strengths are caring for other people and ensuring that everyone is happy,” Green said.
Green takes many dance classes outside of school as well as being a part of the HHS dance program. Green takes jazz and hip hop classes at a local studio; however, neither of these are his favorite type of dance.
“Modern is my favorite type of dance because I really feel that I can express myself the most [in this type] and let my emotions guide the way I dance. It’s [also] very smooth and everything flows together really nicely,” Green said.
Green was in the HHS’ production of Hairspray earlier this year. This was his first musical and he plans on doing it again next year. He not only wants to do the musical again next year, but later in life, he wants to be a dancer or actor on Broadway or TV. Green would like to be an actor or dancer in an environment in which he can work with others.
“I’d rather work in a team so that I don’t have to do all of the work myself and more ideas can be brought to the table,” Green said.
Green also works as a team in colorguard. Green’s favorite part of guard was the bus rides.
“Bus rides to competitions were so fun because it gave all of us time to talk and have fun with each other, and I made a lot of great memories and even friendships on the band bus,” said Green.
When Green isn’t doing any of these activities, he is taking care of his brothers, playing video games and sleeping.
