The buzzer sounds and everyone calms down for halftime. The juniors are in the lead, 12-6. The girls trudge off the field, tugging up their flags, as the guys prepare for the halftime show.
Wait. The girls go off the field while the guys do the halftime show? It seems that we have an odd case of gender confusion.
Or a Powder Puff football game.
Last Monday evening was the annual Harrisonburg High School Powder Puff game. It was senior girls, coached by Brady Cockerham and captained by Kiah Silver, against junior girls, coached by Max Johnson and captained by Carrie Hofacker, playing flag football. Senior and junior guys formed an unorganized group of “cheerleaders”. Wearing short skirts, tight shirts, pink leggings, and fake boobs, they ran around yelling at whichever team had the ball at the moment.
The juniors scored 2 touchdowns in the first quarter alone. The seniors, trying to catch up, made a touchdown at the beginning of the second quarter, but never got any closer to tying the score.
The halftime show was different from any that I’ve ever seen. The cheerleaders started it off in a huddle, then performed multiple confused cartwheeling routines. They pulled themselves together long enough to make a small pyramid, and ended up running around yelling. Odd, but entertaining, so I guess it did its job.
Six minutes after halftime the juniors scored again, rounding off the third quarter with a solid 18-6, juniors. Almost right away in the fourth quarter the seniors scored their second, and their last, touchdown.
Sprinting for another score, senior Taelor Adams got knocked down. With four minutes left in the game, the seniors lost a player to a leg injury. They called a time out 2 minutes later.
They had no luck, though. At 1:30, the juniors sprinted and scored touchdown number 4.
Then, with 2 seconds left in the game, a long pass was throw over everyone’s heads and actually caught. Technically, the last touchdown happened after the buzzer sounded, but it was counted.
The game ended with juniors at 30 points and seniors at 12 points.

I believe that the Senior caption was MIA and Kiah wasn’t there along with Mitch DePoy was a coach. Seniors got cheated
