“New Girl,” a hot new television series starring Zooey Deschanel, premiered Tuesday night at on Fox 9/8 c. The witty and racy new comedy was very funny and clever. If you love quirky comedy, then you’re going to love this new show! I loved Deschanel’s performance as Jesse, a quirky school teacher who just suffered from a bad break-up (she found her ex cheating on her). She saw an add in the newspaper for a nice, sunny, open apartment, so she jumped on it, only to find out that the residents of the place were three men not expecting to have to clean up after what damage was done by Jesse’ former boyfriend. Deborah Halpern, a tenth grader at HHS, loved Zooey Deschanel’s performance. 

“Zooey Deschanel is the best!” says Halpern. “I really like the idea behind the show and the acting is pretty good.”

Fans of the show include Caitlin Kelley and Emily Bocook. Even without seeing the whole thing, they both agree that the idea is great and it’s really funny!
