Sokolyuk lands job at bank after substituting
Before working at a bank, before working at a car dealership and before substituting at Harrisonburg High School, Chris Sokolyuk graduated from HHS in 2013. He then went on to Bridgewater college where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration as well as a minor degree in finance.
According to Sokolyuk, he went against what everyone told him not to do and he took the first job offer he got. He moved to Leesburg for about two months where he worked as a service manager at automember/motomember of Leesburg. As a service manager he did some of everything.
“The way the dealership was set up the shop was run as a seperate business I was the guy that overlooked everything.” Sokolyuk said “I got to deal with the customer from beginning to end.” He said the job was fun but it wasn’t what he had been looking for.
Afterwards, he came back to Harrisonburg and started substituting again because while he was in college, he was a substitute teacher. He said it was great for his schedule because during the days when the colleges had breaks, the city schools were still in session. Because of this, he was able to be on break from school and work those days, and he also found it convenient because he could choose what days he worked.
During his time substituting, he applied for jobs at different places around the area. In October, he got a job interview and finally got a job at Union Bank which is where he currently is working.
Sokolyuk has been a successful man since graduating from Harrisonburg high school. Thanks to working hard, he has had the opportunity to be a substitute, a service manager and work in a bank.
