Shoes represent personalities

Everyone has their own interests, hobbies and style. When it comes to shoes, students pick the pair that best fits them and what they like. As each person takes a step, others around them see their shoes and can get a good idea of a person’s style and interests. Furthermore, the saying “Walk a mile in their shoes” is a representation that if you have went through the things they have went through, you would be a different person, which goes further to show the importance of shoe selection with character.

A form of nonverbal communication is shown when people get to know others by looking at their shoes. For example, I have played softball for approximately 6 years, and over the summer I decided to show everyone my love for the sport by purchasing a pair of softball Converses. When I walk around the halls, other students see my shoes and immediately know that I love softball. They have already gotten to know me because softball is a huge part of my life and by knowing my interests they understand me better.

Many other students here at HHS use their shoes to show their personality and interests with every step they take, and junior Tarius Allen is one example.

“I thought they were pretty cool, and nobody else pretty much as them in the school,” Allen said.

Every person is unique. If you want to show others who you are, purchase a pair of shoes that represent yourself and make sure you’re buying the shoes for you and not just what is popular today.
