Best Football Memories
Sam Heie, Editor-in-Chief
After the end of the official season and the transition to the post season, football players reminisce about their favorite memories from their experience, on and off the field.
Senior Jerome Banks, Offensive Line
Q: What is the best memory you have from your football season? A: “When we played Charlottesville, there was a field goal and they messed it up, so Sam Healy through me the ball and I got a touchdown. It didn’t count, but I got a touchdown,” Banks said.
Junior Emmanuel Maclin
Q: What is the best memory you have from your football season? A: “My favorite memory was this past game playing against Spotswood. We just had a lot of fun during the game cheering on teammates. That game led us to the playoffs and it was against Spotswood. It’s always good to beat the Wood,” Maclin said.
Junior Gabe Poirot, Strong Safety
Q: What is the best memory you have of your football season? A: “[The most memorable game] was for the homecoming game when we beat Rockbridge. That was huge. Just coming into the game knowing that they were good and then leaving the field knowing we had just crushed them was good,” Poirot said.
Junior Ezkarlyn Tejeda, Tight End
Q: What is the best memory you have from your football season? A: “Watching Steven [Gilbert] grow as a player was my favorite memory. I really didn’t play football just for me, I played because I wanted to share that moment with my friends,” Tejeda said.
