From the previews, The Tourist looks like an action packed love story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This is a lie. I sat through the movie waiting for good acting, it did not happen. I waited for an action scene to ‘wow’ me, it did not happen. After I realized that I would not see great acting from Johnny Depp or Angelina Jolie or see any good blow up scenes, I decided to count how many times a man in the movie turns around and checks Angelina Jolie out. I lost count.
I was disappointed that Johnny Depp did not have the same effect on me he usually does after I watch one of his films (minus Pirates of the Caribbean). I feel like him and Jolie did not even try. They relied on their good looks rather than their amazing acting abilities.
There were bad jokes that I forgot to laugh about throughout the movie. I was actually excited to see this movie and was quite disappointed that it turned out to be a dud. I would not recommend seeing this wanna-be great movie.
