“Ouch that’s going to hurt!” Athletes on the opposing football team, feared the O-Line dominated by 6 foot 5 inch, 320 pound offensive lineman Landon Turner. During the summer Turner announced that he would be attending the University of North Carolina to his friends, family and media.
Landon had fifteen schools actively recruit him to play. However, out of those fifteen, he narrowed it down to three schools: Virginia Tech, West Virginia University and the University of North Carolina. “I had to think a lot and had a series of visits,” said Turner. “I picked UNC because I liked the atmosphere and energy.”
For his senior year, Landon opened holes and helped his team to a prestigiousseason for Coach Tim Sarver’s last year. He also helped prepare his protégé Joe Zuner for next season. “Landon is one of the best athletes to come out of Harrisonburg and I expect him to do exceptionally well in his college career. He not only has natural ability but he has the desire to win as well,” said head coach Tim Sarver.
