Paranormal Activity 3 was released on October 21, 2011. It was, by far, the scariest movie I’ve ever seen.

The movie takes place in the year 1989. It’s about a young family: a man, his wife, and their two young daughters. When the man notices a peculiar detail on a recording of a home video, he decides to set up video cameras around the house, to try to see if there was anything spooky going on in the house. He sets up a camera in his and his wife’s room, their daughters’ room, and one downstairs. The downstairs camera is attached to part of a fan, so it oscillates between the living room to the kitchen.
The camera work in this movie is exceptional. The entire movie is shown from the view of a video camera, which makes for a very creepy experience. The oscillating camera is especially scary because it moves back and forth, and causes a lot of suspense. As the movie progresses, it becomes quite evident that there is paranormal activity taking place in the house. The youngest daughter has an “imaginary friend” named Toby. It becomes clear, however, that Toby isn’t imaginary at all. As the movie progresses, it becomes more and more suspenseful. The movie itself is only eighty five minutes long, but it felt much longer because I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.
I won’t ruin the movie for you, but I will say that the end is surprising. I definitely recommend this movie to anyone who is a fan of the horror genre. It is technically the third paranormal activity movie, but they are not a series. I haven’t seen either of the first two movies and it did not matter. Even though it’s a short movie, I would say it’s well worth the ten dollar ticket. I suppose you could wait for it to come out on DVD, but you won’t get the same exceptional experience as you would watching it in a theater.

It still doesn’t change the fact that the movies can be watched individually.

The third Paranormal Activity movie has the two girls from the first and second movies. They are all connected.
